These are the Panorama photos I used to make the Virtual Tour.
This is a photo taken during the construction of the Arctic King. I think it gives a good idea of the size of the antenna.
TF4M is the climber – those were the days, now gone.

TF4M working on the Arctic King
I recorded a small pile up on 160 meters. The recording is in stereo, reception is full diversity with various receive antennas switched into circuit as needed.

Note: I have discovered a mistake in audio connections…the recording is only the left channel, the diversity effect is therefore lost in the recording.
Booming signals from Europe, Russia and the Middle East and even one QSO with Japan.
The Arctic King showed his power yet again.

COMMUNICATIONS ANTENNAS
Antenna Series VOLUME II

A Philco Construction Handbook on Communications Antennas, which I purchased on eBay contains this beautiful picture.

This shows the correct way to join wires for longevity in harsh climates.
I use these principles when building all my wire antennas.

Several years ago, most likely in 2004, I purchased a 35mm film canister off eBay.
The film canister contained an Army Service Forces, Signal Corps Production:
RHOMBIC ANTENNAS
ENGINEERING PRINCIPLES OF RHOMBIC ANTENNAS.
I have scanned the film and the course may be viewed below.
All the information required to build Legendary Rhombic antennas is contained in these images.
Enjoy!
A friend sent me a link to a Department of the US Army Technical Manual for the assembly of a Rhombic Antenna.
The document contains this beautiful image of a Rhombic Antenna.

I have built 5 such legendary Rhombic antennas on my property, two of them have direction switching – giving me 7 directions to choose from on 80m-10m.
Since my interest is mainly with 160 meters – the Top Band, I rarely use the firepower anymore.

From Hávamál :
It was a pleasure to meet Alexey and we already talked about his next visit to Otradalur.
Outside of the contest, Alexey operated from my station using the call sign TF/VE2XAA.
Our last QSO was on the 14th of May, 2011 on 20m CW.

Here is an album of photos I took of Alexey during his visit.
During his stay, Alexey suggested some improvements to my engineering - I have already begun to implement some of his suggestions.
Alexey had prepared to work the contest on SSB and had recorded his contest exchanges into the voice keyer of the radio. However, he decided to do a CW only effort. The recording was discovered by chance recently.

I believe Alexey was very pleased with his visit. He wrote in my station Guest Book:
…unic place in the planet, unic landscape with real Elves and unic antenna farm. ….In 10-20 years one more forest will cover the place where it was never before. And on top of the trees the Arctic King with Arctic Quinne will rule their Otradalur Kingdome!
The result of the contest IARU 2011:
total: 1876 QSO, 770400 points, beside contest 2200 QSO. Total for 3 days ~ 4000 QSO.
Main station impression: usually you do not hear the stations calling you. This problem does not exist in Otradalur farm. You hear even 160 m band with full daylight days in July! ”White nights” – is not a problem for Arctic King!
73! Alexey, VE2XAA
Most of Alexey´s TF4X operation was recorded as follows:
