After seeing how much ‘Skuggi’ my Labrador enjoyed himself in the sea, I could not resist joining him.
Today was overcast and warm, temperatures reached a whopping 15° C and the sea was quite warm, I believe the water temperature may have reached 6° to 8° – quite comfortable once I was in the water.
Must do this more often, afterwards I felt almost alive…8-)
If you visit my station, don´t forget your swimsuit.
I took my Labrador – ‘Skuggi’ to the beach. His name means ‘Shadow’. He enjoys swimming very much and he is without any doubt the strongest dog in the whole of Iceland and possibly the world.
2 cubic meters of concrete were poured into the 2 meter deep hole that had previously been made in solid rock with the hydraulic rock breaker.
The weight of the concrete is 4.8 tonnes (10,560lbs) and with the additional rocks embedded in the concrete it weighs over 6 tonnes.
In addition, the concrete is bonded to the solid rock.
I then levelled the surrounding area with my backhoe loader, only the chain can be seen coming out of the ground.
I believe this will be strong enough even in the toughest weather.
